About Westmoor Oil

WESTMOOR Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil is highly palatable with a unique fatty acid profile providing a rich source of essential omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids and the antioxidant vitamin E.
It has one of the lowest saturated fat contents of all the common edible oils. It is ideal for feeding to horses and ponies where pasture is limited and/or cereals are fed.
Essential fatty acids are known to have important roles in the immune system and coat condition, but in addition they nutritionally aid fertility, foetal development, colostrum and sperm quality.
Feeding WESTMOOR Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil will nutritionally support the skin resulting in good skin condition and glossy coats.

WESTMOOR Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil may be fed at higher rates to increase the dietary energy density, as oil has over twice the calorific value of carbohydrate. This is ideal for fussy eaters or horses with high energy needs such as racehorses in training and lactating mares.

Oil supplemented diets may help to reduce excitable behaviour in some horses. See report from Catherine Dunnett (The advantages of oil supplimentation of the diet with reference to cold pressed rapeseed oil)
